Sprints: Winged Sprint Cars Return to Bloomington Oval

4 May 1998

BLOOMINGTON, IN - With last week's rainout, this coming Friday night's program assumes the added importance of Opening Night for the 75th summer at Bloomington Speedway. Bloomington will host winged-sprint car action in the first of three scheduled events featuring the winged-rockets during the 1998 season. The high speed Bloomington oval earned its reputation as one of the nation's premier facilities for winged sprint car racing over the past two decades.

The payoff for this special event includes $2,000 to win and $150 to start the 25-lap winged sprint car main event. The racing program includes the WalMart Tire & Lube Express Indiana Street Stocks and open wheel modifieds.

The pit gate opens at 4:30, and the grandstand general admission at 5:30 pm. Hot laps begin at 6:00, with racing at 7:45. General admission is just $12, with all fans ages 12 and under admitted FREE, when accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $20.
