SPRINT, USAC: Support J.J. Yeley and Win Prizes

USAC Sprint Car driver and IRL rookie J.J. Yeley, of Glendale, AZ., announces a raffle to help the team rebuild the car destroyed during "Border Wars IV" at Winchester (Ind.) Speedway on May 3. Yeley finished second at "Border Wars IV" at Eldora Speedway on Saturday night after setting fourth fastest time and winning his heat race.

The following night at Winchester, Yeley qualified eighth fastest and finished third in the second heat race. With four laps remaining in the thirty lap feature, Yeley flipped his car and was classified as finishing 12th. The car was destroyed.

Despite his bad luck at Winchester, the second place finish at Eldora was good enough to tie for second with Tim Cox in "Border Wars IV" final points.

J.J. Yeley, currently second in USAC National Sprint car points, hopes to be able to compete in the next USAC Stoops Freightliner Sprint car at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway but he needs financial help to get back on track.

J.J.'s team have organized a raffle to raise the money needed to put the team back in the hunt for the championship. Everyone's a winner as each person entered receives a team t-shirt, an autographed photo and two team newsletters. Drawing will be made on July 26th, 1998 at the last night of Indiana Sprint Week and the winner will be notified immediately, first by phone, then by registered mail.
