NASCAR BGN: Timber Wolf Car to Don Special Paint Scheme for Three Races in '98

Central, City, Ky. -- For the first time since 1996 the No. 37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Mark Green in the NASCAR Busch Series will carry a special paint scheme. The new colors are to commemorate a new addition to the Timber Wolf product line.Launched in April, the newest member of the Timber Wolf product line is Timber Wolf Long Cut Straight. The Long Cut Straight product joins the other Timber Wolf products: Long Cut Wintergreen, Fine Cut Natural, Fine Cut Wintergreen, and Cool Wintergreen and broadens the offering from the number one selling brand in the value priced moist snuff segment.
Instead of carrying the familiar blue and green colors of Timber Wolf Cool Wintergreen, the No. 37 car will showcase the maroon with black and chrome trim colors of Timber Wolf Long Cut Straight in three races in 1998.
The first race for the unique Timber Wolf car will be the Carquest 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 23 followed by the MBNA 200 at Dover Downs International Speedway on May 30 and the Hardee's 250 at Richmond International Raceway on June 5.
"The launch of Timber Wolf Long Cut Straight emphasizes our commitment to offer the finest quality moist snuff to consumers at an everyday low price," said Elliot Eliades, marketing director for Timber Wolf. "We chose the Timber Wolf Racing team to showcase Timber Wolf Straight due to the overwhelming response NASCAR fans have shown to our other products."
The Timber Wolf Long Cut Straight car was designed by Concord, North Carolina based motorsports artist Sam Bass, who also designed the blue and green No. 37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet.
"When I saw the original designs from Sam Bass for the blue and green Timber Wolf car I didn't think he'd ever be able to top it, but he did," said Green, a resident of Owensboro, Kentucky. "The maroon and black car is a masterpiece. Many drivers have been successful with special paint schemes and there is no reason we can't repeat the feat.
"Charlotte is one of our best tracks, Dover is the track we led our first competitive laps in the Busch Series and Richmond is the home of Timber Wolf's US corporate headquarters. The combination is perfect."
