USAC: "Emge 50" First for Jason McCord; Eldora Hosts Sunday Night Race

Jason McCord of Anderson, Ind. finally found the Stoops Freightliner/USAC Sprint Car winners circle Friday night at his home track - the Anderson Speedway! He passed Chet Fillip on the 21st lap and led the rest of the way to win the "Emge 50" in his PayLess Super Markets/Weidner Chevrolet/Delco Remy America Special.

Kevin Thomas of Danville, Ind., runner-up in the Anderson 50-lapper, leads the Stoops Freightliner standings going into this Sunday night's program at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Practice at the 1/2-mile dirt track starts at 6:30 p.m, qualifying gets under way at 7 and racing begins at 8:30. A 30-lap feature is on tap.

McCord and Thomas were trailed by Fillip, Pat Abold and Brad Armstrong at Anderson. Turbines, Inc. fast qualifier Dave Steele failed to finish the 50-lapper. Abold won the True Value semi.
