Quotes from Phil Parsons on Dover:
"We are looking to have a solid race in Dover this weekend. Dover is a track that I have done well at in the past; we even came close to winning the race in 1995. My crew chief, Gene Nead and the team have prepared a real good race car for this weekend. If I can qualify the car up in the front, I believe we will be able to contend all afternoon. Accidents at Dover have a way of collecting a lot of cars, therefore the closer to the front I can be our chances should be reduced of getting collected in a big accident."
"I believe we are getting ready to put together a streak of solid races and hopefully a win or two. The next few races should be real good for us. Dover and Richmond have always been good places for me, then we go to a new track, Pikes Peak, and then to Watkins Glen where I have had some great runs in both Busch Grand National and Winston Cup."
PIT NOTES
Northeastern Supply, of Baltimore, MD, will be an associate sponsor on the #10 Chevrolet Monte Carlo this weekend in Dover.
Parsons has averaged a 10th place finish over the last 6 Busch races at Dover. In those 6 races, Parsons has finished 3rd two times, September 1995 and 1996. Parsons has completed 99.4% of the laps in the last 6 races as well.
Parsons should become the proud father of twins within the next two weeks. Phil's wife Marcia is expecting in early to mid June.
