Brazilian Racing News: Gomes Wins Rounds 6 and 7 of Brazilian Stock

Brazilian Driver Paulo Gomes won the 6th and 7th round of the Brazilian Stock Car Championship in Brasília, at the Nelson Piquet circuit. In round six, Paulo Gomes, who started second behind Carlos Alves (Axial-Cruz de Malta), jumped into the lead at the second lap and never lost it again. Ingo Hoffmann, leader of the Championship, took advantage of the confusion at the start and jumped to the second position, right behind Gomes. Alessandro Weiss finished 3rd, recovering well from his bad start position (13th). In the second race of the day, the seventh round of the Championship, Gomes started first, Hoffmann second, Weiss third and Chico Serra fourth. This race had nearly no overtakings, and had the same result as the 6th round. In the B Class, Carlos Cunha won the 6th round, as his toughest rival Ricardo Etchenique overheated his engine. Etchenique won the 7th round, followed by Carlos Cunha. Brazilian Stock Car Championship Standings (Class A): 1) Ingo Hoffmann, 125 points; 2) Paulo Gomes, 85 points; 3) Xandy Negrão, 84 points.
