What: The Goody's Dash "150" is Race No. 7 in the NASCAR Goody's Dash Series
1998 Schedule.

Where: Bristol Motor Speedway. A .533 mile high-banked concrete oval. The
speedway is located seven miles southwest of Bristol, Tenn. On US 19.

When: Saturday, June 20, 1998 - 4:30 p.m.

Distance: 150 Laps (79.95 Miles)

Sanction: National Association of Stock Car Automobile Racing Inc. (NASCAR)

Schedule:
Friday, June 19--Registration and inspection 7:00 a.m. Haulers enter 7:00 a.m. Mandatory Rookie Drivers Meeting 11:00 a.m. (at the infield tent). Draw for qualifying 11:00 a.m. Practice 12:00 -1:00 p.m. and 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Time Trials will follow NASCAR Craftsman Truck qualifying.

Saturday, June 20--Gates open 1:00 p.m. Crew Chiefs pick pit stalls at 1:30 p.m. Mandatory Driver and Crew Chief Meeting 3:30 p.m. Driver Introductions at 3:55 p.m.

Qualifying Record - 16.485 sec./ 116.397 mph by Christian Elder June 20, 1997.
Race Record - 78.020 mph by Edward Howell June 22, 1994 This will be the sixteenth event for the Goody's Dash Series at Bristol Motor Speedway since 1975. Dean Combs won the first Dash Series race here in '75 and has three other Dash Series wins here, one in '79 and both events in '81. Other past winners here include, Larry Pearson '78, Larry Caudill '78, G.W. Gibson '79, Larry Hoopaugh won both events here in '80, Hut Stricklin '86, Mike Swaim Sr. won the only 200 lap race here in '87, Edward Howell won in '94, Mike Swaim Jr. in '95, Lyndon Amick in '96 and Brian Sockwell in '97.

"Dean Combs, Hut Stricklin and Mike Swaim Sr. are the only three Goody's Dash Series drivers to date that have won an event here from the pole.

Will Hobgood has won the pole starting position three of the last four times here, in '94, '95 and '96 but has never won here.

In 1997 Hobgood was leading coming to the white flag when he was involved in an accident on the front stretch with the eventual winner, Brian Sockwell. At this time, neither Sockwell nor Will Hobgood is entered in this event.

The only former winner entered for this event is Mike Swaim Jr.

Rules Specific To This Track:
Tires: Goodyear 2373 (Left Side) 2382 (Right Side)
Note: Right side tires must have inner shields 2380 only.

Field: 28 fastest qualifiers plus two provisionals.

Fuel: All competitors must use fuel supplied by "76" Performance Products for practice, qualifying and the race itself.

Carburetor: Holes must be drilled in carburetor stud, adapter bolt and intake bolt to seal carburetor.

TV: Live espn2 4:30 p.m. Motel Information: Accommodations are available throughout the Tri-cities area at a reasonable cost.
