NASCAR Trucks: Common Sense and Patience Key to Success at Bristol Says Butch Miller

BRISTOL, TN - As a veteran of many classic battles on short tracks across the country, Butch Miller has an advantage on the competition as the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series heads to Bristol Motor Speedway - Experience. Miller, driver of the #18 DANA Dodge, is ready to use his edge in the June 20th running of the Loadhandler 200 at the famous high-banked half-mile track in northeast Tennessee.

"Common sense and patience are the keys to success at Bristol," said Miller. "A driver has to play "The Give and Take" game the entire race in order to have a good finish. It is not a track that where a rookie usually gets their first win. It is a very demanding place to race.

"Although it is only a half-mile track, speeds are high and things happen fast," Miller continued. "You have to take your time and let the race and the track come to you."

Miller has posted impressive NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series finished at Bristol with one top-five and two top-twenty finishes.

"We have ran well here in the past and we hope that this year we will be able to bring home our first win this year for the DANA Dodge team," concluded Miller. "We are 12th in the point right now and had a good run at Texas. A good finish at Bristol would continue the momentum this team is building. We are ready to go to the front and stay there."

Bud Pole Award Qualifying for the Loadhandler 200, race nine of the 27 event NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series 1998 schedule is Friday, June 19 at 6 p.m. The race is set for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and will be televised live by ESPN2. Radio coverage will be provided by NTN (NASCAR Truck Network) to over 400 affiliates nationwide.
