Hendrick Marrow Program Benefit Event

18 June 1998

JUNE 17, 1998 - CKM Motorsports is hosting a fundraising event at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, California on June 26th. Funds raised at this event will benefit the Hendrick Marrow Program, established in honor of Winston Cup team owner Rick Hendrick.

Events for the day include a "race-a-thon" run by the GT America Stock Car Series, a silent auction, and a catered party with guests from the Winston Cup Series. Fans of racing can become a "Sponsor For A Day" by pledging any dollar amount per lap a GTA driver of their choice finishes. Anyone who donates to the event in any form will be invited to attend the party on Turn Two of the racetrack.

The Hendrick Marrow Program was formed last year in partnership with the Marrow Foundation in order to educate the public about the great need for bone marrow donors, to launch bone marrow drives across the country, and to raise funds to cover fees associated with typing donor blood samples. This fee is now averaging $75.00 per person. If we reach our fundraising goal of $30,000, four hundred new donors can join the registry at no cost. Think of how many lives can be saved by this venture!

Anyone interested in attending this event or making a donation to the Hendrick Marrow Program should contact A.J. Sironen, President/CEO of CKM Motorsports at (650) 851-7453, or by e-mail at CKMMOTORSPORTS@webv.net.
