Brazilian Racing News: Sudam F-3
2 July 1998
Leonardo Nienkotter, Duda Pamplona and Tom Stefani are now the Nestor Gabriel Furlan's strongest challengers in the South American F-3 Championship. While Furlan has 85 points--compared to 46 for both Stefani and Nienkotter-- The Brazilian drivers hope to close this gap at the next race in Brasilia this weekend. "We really think we can close this gap. We will have a big advantage of knowing the track better, as Furlan had at the Argentinian tracks. 4 of the first 6 races were on Argentinian and Chilean tracks, while now, we will race 3 races in Brazil and 3 in Argentina. We hope to take as many points as we can" said Nienkotter, from Prop Car Racing, defending champion. "Furlan has the big advantage of being in his 10th season in Sudam F-3. I am on my first" said Duda Pamplona, reigning F-Chevrolet champion in Brazil. Next F-3 race will be held in Brasilia, in July 5th, and will be on ESPN International at 13:00 Brazilian time (12:00 Florida Time).
