NASCAR Trucks: Butch Miller Knows Consistency is Key to Return to Victory Lane

10 July 1998

NAZARETH, PA - Although he is anxious to return to victory lane in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Butch Miller, driver of the #18 DANA Dodge knows consistency is the key that unlocks the gate to the winner's circle.

"The old saying "Crawl before your walk, walk before you run" is really true in racing," stated Miller. "The Dana Dodge team is just in it's first year of competition. Of course, we had hoped to have our first win by now, but the way this team is progressing is the right course. We are working on qualifying well, racing strong and scoring good finishes. Continuing this game-plan will ultimately get us to our goal of one of many wins."

Miller has been successful at prior NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Nazareth Speedway events. He finished third in 1996 and had a strong run going in '97 until a mechanical problem dropped him several laps down at the finish. He is looking to the July 12th NAPA AutoCare 200 to continue his streak of top-ten finishes.

"I like Nazareth," said Miller. "It is an exciting track for the fans and a challenging place for the drivers. Patience pays off and will get you a good finish at the checkered flag."

The Nazareth event is round 11 of the 27 race 1998 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule. Bud Pole qualifying for the NAPA AutoCare 200 will be held Saturday, July 11th at 3:00 p.m. EDT. The race is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EDT on Sunday, July 12th. Live television coverage will be provided by CBS. NASCAR Truck Network will broadcast the race live to over 400 affiliate stations nationwide.
