NASCAR-CTS, BUSINESS: Tempus Resorts, Rocky Mountain Chevy Dealers Sponsor NASCAR Truck Race

16 July 1998

FROM: Pikes Peak International Raceway, Fountain, Colo.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: JULY 14 , 1998

FOUNTAIN, Colo. - Tempus Resorts International has joined the Rocky Mountain Chevy Dealers as sponsors for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Race at Pikes Peak International Raceway.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Tempus Resorts 300K presented by the Rocky Mountain Chevy Dealers is part of a July 24-26 NASCAR triple-header at the motorsports facility located just south of Colorado Springs.

In addition to the NASCAR trucks, the KIDDE Safety 200 NASCAR Winston West and NASCAR RE/MAX Challenge 150 will provide Colorado with its biggest ever NASCAR weekend.

Tempus Resorts, which specializes in selling vacation packages, is adding the truck race event at PPIR to its growing NASCAR sponsorship portfolio.

The Motorsports Marketing Division of Tempus Resorts has designed a vacation package to specifically market NASCAR fans. Race fans will be able to see, hear, touch, and taste their interactive Race-Vacation of a lifetime.

Our goal is to get our product in the hands of every NASCAR fan, said Ken Lindley, Director of Motorsports Marketing for Tempus Resorts.

The response to our Race Vacation Package from the NASCAR Busch Series fans has been overwhelming and we are excited with the opportunity to expand our marketing and sponsorship efforts to include the NASCAR Truck Series, Lindley said.

Tempus Resorts is the third event sponsor announced by PPIR in the past month. In each case it is the first time those entities became partners in a motorsports event. Internet guide Lycos sponsored Junes Busch Grand National race and Radisson Hotels will sponsor the Aug. 14-16 Indy Racing League event.

The addition of Tempus to our family of sponsors is another indication of how we continue to bring new businesses into motorsports, said Lex Dudas, PPIR General Manager. We want to continue promoting PPIR, Colorado Springs and Colorado as a great tourist destination where race fans can plan summer vacations around our events and enjoy the beauty of Colorado.

The Rocky Mountain Chevy Dealers are proud to be sponsors of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Pikes Peak International Raceway, said Bill Daniels on behalf of the dealers group. PPIR is a valuable asset to the Pikes Peak region and provides quality entertainment.
