Drag Bikes: Pro Stock Rookie Shawn Gann Looking for Second Win

COLUMBUS, Ohio : Pro Stock Bike rookie Shawn Gann put his first win in the books last weekend at Inaugural AMA/Prostar Street Fighter Nationals, held at Route 66 Raceway, in Chicago.

Gann, 20, from Stoneville, North Carolina, qualified in the number one position and continued in absolute domination through out elimination's. "It's a dream come true" shouted Gann as he and his team received their trophy in winners circle.

Shawn and his father, Blake Gann, have been racing as a family effort for four years now racing in slower categories. This year they decided to his dream and build a Pro Stock bike.

Though they have no major sponsors, they have managed to run quicker then the best in the sport, and have done in three short races what many do not ever achieve in an entire career in the sports toughest class; a win and a number one qualifying position. In addition, Gann is the youngest winner in the classes history.

All eyes will be focused on Gann as he attempts to repeat this weekend at the AMA Nationals, which will be held at National Trail Raceway. Qualifying starts Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m., eliminations begin Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
