NOTES AND QUOTES:
"Our Goodyear Eagle race tire recommendation for the Pennsylvania 500 is thesame as that raced earlier this season in the Pocono 500, which featured newleft side and right side tires," said Tony Freund, Goodyear's lead engineerfor stock cars. "No adjustments were necessary for this race, given the excellent performance of the recommendation in June."

"Car setups for this race will be the distinguishing factor between cars inthe front versus cars in the back, due to the track's long, high-speed flatcorners and three straights of varying length. Tire wear has not traditionally been an issue, as handling is the critical factor on this tri-oval that drives like a road coarse."

The Pocono 500 validated the successful performance during tests that were conducted in May with drivers Bobby Hamilton and Rusty Wallace. "Targets were achieved for wear, traction and operating temperature during the testsand the Pocono 500 confirmed our results during race conditions. We are extremely confident going into the Brickyard 400 with this recommendation aswell," noted Freund.

DRIVER QUOTE:
Jeremy Mayfield, #12 Mobil 1 Ford for Penske Kranefuss Racing "With so many things to think about during a race, it was nice not to have any worries about the tires. Goodyear brought a very consistent tire that stood up to all of the weather conditions we experienced here in June, fromsun to clouds to rain and even a pretty good drop in temperature. The tirewear was great all day."

ESTIMATED PIT STOPS FOR SUNDAY'S RACE: APPROXIMATELY EVERY 35-40 LAPS. (ESTIMATE BASED ON FUEL CAPACITY)
