South American Touring Car Results

Argentinian driver Oscar Larrauri, former F-1 driver, won the 5th round of the SATCC (South American Touring Car Championship) in Mar de Ajó, on the Argentinian coast. After two rainy days, on Friday and Saturday, Sunday was a very sunny day, making it difficult to find the right setup. Brazilian Carlos Bueno, pole-position on the first 4 rounds of the Championship, had trouble on saturday, when it started to rain during his flying lap. The pole went to Argentinian Fernando Croceri. At the race, with sun, Larrauri clearly had the best setup in his BMW 320i, and was never challenged by Bueno or Juan Manuel Fangio II (former CART driver) from the Peugeot Team. Ingo Hoffmann drove a very good race, despite having trouble in his BMW 320i engine and finished 5th. Next round will be in Olavarria, Argentina, in August 2th.
