Midgets: Can Three Grand Dan Do it Again?

30 July 1998

By LES MESZAROS LANSING, MI: "Three Grand Dan" Drinan of Indianapolis, IN, will be back at the Winchester Speedway on Friday, August 14, when the NAMARS Auto Value midgets return for their second appearance of the season. The 25-lap feature will pay $2000 to win and if a driver elects to start from the rear of the 20-car field, he can win an extra $1000 for a total payday of $3000.

This is exactly what Dan Drinan did back on July 3 when he took home $3000. Can "Three Grand Dan" do it again? Or will it be "Lighting" Larry Gibson, who finished second on July 3. Maybe it will be "Rocket" Ricky Shelton, who led much of the race and lost second on the final lap. The only way to find out is to come to Winchester Speedway in Winchester, IN on Friday, August 14. Spectator admission will be a very low $10.00. Get there early, as the grand stands were full the last time.
