IROC: Luyendyk Released from Hospital

Luyendyk is planning to fly to his homeland (Holland) later today to spend time with his family.
The winner of the 1990 and 1997 Indianapolis 500 was injured during the International Race Of Champions (IROC) race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Friday. Luyendyk exited turn four as driver Tommy Kendall brushed the wall and slid into the "Flying Dutchman". Luyendyk slammed the PEDS protective barriers causing the race to be red flagged. It was one of the most horrifying accidents in the history of the IROC series.
Luyendyk was diagnosed with a slight concussion. He was hospitalized overnight in Indianapolis.
