NASCAR Trucks: Return to Nashville Speedway USA Music to Butch Miller's Ears

14 August 1998

NASHVILLE, TN - Returning to Nashville Speedway USA is music to Butch Miller's ears. The driver of the #18 DANA Dodge has had top-five finishes in both previous NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events at the Tennessee track. Miller and his DANA Dodge team are looking to improve on those finishes in the August 15 Federated Auto Parts 250.

"We like this race track," said Miller. "In '96, we finished fourth, last year we finished third. I think I would like to skip over second and go right to victory circle. One of those guitars would look great in the new house Donna and I are building. But winning in not an easy task in the truck series. The level of competition is one of the strongest in all of NASCAR."

With one NCTS victory to his credit, Miller and the DANA Dodge team have been inching ever-so-close to their first win as a team with consistent finishes thus far this season. He is currently ranked in the top 15 in the point standings, locked in a tight battle that counts less than one hundred points separating the drivers ranked from the ninth to the 18th positions.

"We are so close to that win," stated the veteran driver. "Boy, it would feel good to bring the DANA Dodge to the winner's circle in Nashville. It is a great city with great fans. I have raced many times here during my career in ASA and NASCAR Busch Grand National. It is the kind of short track where I learned to drive. You get to rub a little and bump a little, nothing serious though and really race the other guys hard. You can tell I am excited to come back to Nashville in the DANA Dodge."

The Federated Auto Parts 250 is the 17th race of the 27 event 1998 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule.

Bud Pole qualifying for the event is scheduled for Friday, August 14 at 6:00 p.m. The race will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15 and will be televised live by TNN. NASCAR Truck Network will broadcast the race to over 400 radio station affiliates nationwide.
