NASCAR Trucks: Scot Walters Ready to go Road Racing

19 August 1998

* Right! Left! Right! ---It is time to go road racing again. Scot Walters and the Red Man/Brewco Motorsports team is primed and ready to keep the momentum from one week ago rolling on, at the Lund Look 275K NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Heartland Park Topeka.

Walters is looking to score back to back top 10 finishes for the first time in his short Truck Series career. This is Walters and the team's second start on a road course but optimism is high that the race will produce another good performance for the No. 37 Red Man Chevrolet.

"I think we will be better than we were at the Glen," said Walters. "When the Red Man team arrived at Watkins Glen two months ago I had some reservations about this road racing. But after the race had run, I felt great and more important than that I keep getting faster and more comfortable on the track. Now this time around, we can come right in to this track, and know a little better what we need to do to get the truck to handle."

* Scot Walters and the Red Man/Brewco Motorsports team recorded their second top ten finish of the year when they finish 8th in the Federated Auto Parts 250 at Nashville Speedway USA. The finish moved Walters back into the top 20 in driver points.

The last top 10 finish for the Red Man team was at the Miami-Dada Homestead Motorsports Complex on April 4th.

* Welcome Smokers Convenience Stores is the associate sponsor on the No. 37 Red Man Chevrolet for the Lund Look 275K at Heartland Park Topeka in Topeka, Kansas. The chain operates 14 stores in Kansas and Oklahoma.
