NHRA, BUSINESS: B & B Adds New Sponsor for Return at Indy

COLUMBIA, Md - Bob Weickgenannt and the Nitro Funny Car team of B & B Racing have added Justice Brothers to their car as a product sponsor for the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. Justice Brothers provides the team with fluids for the vehicle. They join primary sponsors Variform Vinyl Siding, Velux Roof Window and Doors, and Tenneco Building Products on the car this year.

After a successful outing at the Pontiac Excitement Nationals in Columbus, OH and a match race win at Englishtown, NJ, the team returns to the funny car battles refreshed and ready to compete. The first round loss at Columbus after a strong qualifying effort in the 12th spot was bittersweet for the team. "After our best-ever run in qualifying, we really wanted to go some rounds on Sunday - our goal every time we race. Going out early was less than what wed hoped for." The team looks forward to another good showing at Indy and hopes to spend more time in the action during Sundays eliminations.

The addition of some new crew members and a co-crew chief in Keith Platt has added a new, more competitive, dimension to the team. The team will run Indy, Reading and Memphis yet this year, with the goal of finishing in the Top 20 of the NHRA points standings. Although running a limited schedule this year, the team is hoping to be able to run the entire NHRA national event schedule in 1999.
