NASCAR BGN/Trucks: Brewco Motorsports Swaps Crew Chiefs

1 September 1998

Brewco Motorsports NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Teams to Swap Crew Chiefs

Central City, KY (August 31, 1998) - Brewco Motorsports announced today that a major change will be made in the structure of its NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series teams in an effort to improve performance. Effective today, the crew chiefs from the No. 37 NASCAR Busch Series team and the No. 37 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team will swap positions.

Kenneth Campbell, is taking over the crew chief duties of the No. 37 Red Man Chevrolet driven by Scot Walters in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, while Terry Shirley is filling the crew chief position on the No. 37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Mark Green in the NASCAR Busch Series.

"The 1998 season has been a struggle for both Brewco Motorsports teams," said Brewco Motorsports General Manager Todd Wilkerson. "Neither team has been able to achieve the desired results yet we have the talent and the equipment to win races.

"Terry and Kenneth's ability to prepare winning race cars has never been questioned. They are both very capable but for whatever reason, the current combination isn't producing. We believe this move will benefit both teams and make them stronger."

In 23 starts in 1998, the Timber Wolf Racing NASCAR Busch Series team has mustered only four top 10 finishes while the Red Man Racing NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team was scored just two top 10 finishes in 19 starts.
