Midgets: NAMARS Indiana Triple Crown Bonus Extravaganza

4 September 1998

By LES MESZAROS

LANSING, MI -- For the upcoming NAMARS sanctioned Indiana Triple Crown a new sponsor has come forward to add additional money to the rich weekend of racing. Cherry Tool Supply of Toledo, OH is posting $100.00 each night for the competitor that gains the most positions during the feature.

The Triple Crown will be contested over 3 nights starting on Friday, September 18 at Bloomington Speedway, the next night will be at the Lincoln Park Speedway and finishing up on Sunday night September 20 at the Evans Kokomo Speedway. Each feature pays $2000 to win and if one driver can win all 3 races there is a $10,000 bonus sponsored by Saldana Racing Products and Painter Motorsports Group. This could be $16,000 for one driver but the bonus money does not stop there if that driver wins using an Esslinger engine it would bring the new total to $17,500. If the driver winning uses a Ford power plant, the grand total will be $18,250. Quite a tidy sum. Ford and Esslinger pay cash bonuses at every NAMARS race. This series should draw the top midget drivers from all across North America.

Also racing all three nights will be the 410 non-wing sprints. The non-wing sprint cars will race for $4000 first place money at Bloomington and $3000 at both Lincoln Park and Kokomo.
