PARTS Trucks: PARTS Pro Series Trucks Debut at 441 Speedway

8 September 1998

DUBLIN, Ga. - The popularity of truck racing will result in an invasion of 441 Speedway in Dublin, Ga. The Florida Asphalt Series Trucks (FAST), a division of the PARTS Pro Truck Series will debut at the 3/8-mile oval Sept. 12.

Many of the drivers competing in the PARTS National Series are expected to be on hand for the inaugural FAST event. The 441 race is the first race for the newly formed series, which is planning several more events at tracks in Florida before the year concludes.

Beverly Hunter, who has an extensive background in racing, is the race director for the new organization. She has received a tremendous amount of interest in the series and thinks the first race at 441 Speedway will give the fans an idea of what truck racing is all about..

"These drivers are first class and professional in every aspect," Hunter said. "When they come to a track, they come to race and put on a show for the fans. We expect that the event Sept. 12 at 441 Speedway will be no exception."

The FAST series is designed to allow drivers to compete during the off-weeks in the PARTS Pro Truck Series schedule. It also allows new drivers to get some seat time and valuable experience before running in a national event.

For the regulars on the PARTS touring series, the Dublin race will allow them to do some fine tuning before the final national event scheduled Oct. 24 at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Fla.

The pit gates open at 441 Speedway at 2 p.m. and the grandstands open at 5. Qualifying will get underway at 7 p.m. with racing action to follow. The track is located six miles south of I-16 (exit 14) US 441 in Dublin, Ga.
