11 September 1998

OBX AND DARE COUNTY TOURIST BUREAU TO KICK OFF FALL CAMPAIGN WITH SPONSORSHIP OF THE NO. 91 L J RACING CHEVROLET Mooresville, N.C. -- L J Racing, Inc. announced today that The Dare County Tourist Bureau and OBX will return as sponsors of the No. 91 L J Racing Chevrolet. The famous Cape Hatteras lighthouse was displayed on the hood of the No. 91 Chevrolet during the DieHard 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on April 26, 1998. Now, at Richmond International Speedway, during the Exide NASCAR Select Batteries 400, on September 12, 1998, the Dare County Tourist Bureau and OBX will kick off their private/public partnership to promote the Outer Banks. The OBX logo will appear on the hood of the No. 91 Chevrolet, and the TV panel will broadcast Dare County Tourist Bureau's toll free number 877-By-The-Sea.

OBX is the unofficial symbol of the Outer Banks, and has universal appeal for all of the area, from Corolla to Nags Head to Ocracoke. It started as a local phenomenon, and is now seen by over 7 million visitors annually. It is a way for visitors, who love the area, to take it home with them. OBX provides a positive vehicle that promotes the Outer Banks all over the world, stated Jimmy Douglas, local entrepreneur and owner of Chili Peppers restaurant.

The race on Sunday will propel the fall advertising campaign in the Richmond area. Joe Falk, owner of L J Racing, said, We're happy about the return of OBX, Inc. and the Dare County Tourist Bureau as car sponsors. We are proud to be a part of the bureau's fall advertising efforts in Richmond, Virginia.
