Special Events: FREE Race Fan Appreciation Day - Rushville Indiana

13 September 1998

Major Motion Motorsports Presents:

The Annual: "Vastine Memorial" Track-Chat Roundtable
FREE FAN APPRECIATION DAY !!

WHEN: Saturday October 31, 1998

WHERE: Rush County (Rushville Indiana) Fairgrounds Community Building

TIME: 9am - 8pm

WHAT: FREE RACE FAN APPRECIATION DAY ! Current and Vintage race cars on display. Numerous drivers and race figures in attendance throughout the day to talk to the fans !

WHY: Race fans spend a lot of time and money every year traveling to the races, paying to attend and cheering for their favorite drivers. Additionally, there are a great number of regular listeners to Track-Chat Radio, whom we would like to say, "thanks for listening". The annual Track- Chat Roundtable gives the fans a chance to see many types of race cars up close, meet numerous drivers throughout the day, and casually spend as much or as little time as they desire sharing stories. It is our way of giving something back to the sport and the fans that make racing the most exciting sport going !

THE VASTINE'S: The show is named in memory of Tom & Lynda Vastine. Both were very active with USAC over the years. Tom served as the Vice President to Product Certification at the Indianapolis 500, also with Timing & Scoring, and was a lifetime member of USAC. Additionally, Tom was a member of the USAC Old Timers Club. Tom's wife Lynda also scored the Indianapolis 500. Both volunteered whatever time they could spare to being where they were needed. An inspiration to us, and certainly to many that had the chance to meet them. They loved all types of racing, and looked forward to attending the annual Roundtable prior to their passing away within a year of one another. The Vastine's were our early racing inspirations, and our unsung heroes. By opening the doors to this annual event FREE of Charge to the public, it is our way of remembering them, what they did for the sport, and sharing the interests they had in the sport of auto racing, both past and present.
