USAC Sprints: Terre Haute Nationals Canceled by Race Organizer

A change of race organizers for the 1999 racing season by the Vigo County Fair Board for the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track has prompted T.H.A.T. Racing, the 1998 track operator, to forego presentation of the scheduled October 2-3 "Terre Haute Nationals" USAC Stoops Freightliner Sprint Car and National Midget "doubleheader" at the 1/2-mile dirt oval.

"We are disappointed by the cancellation of the "Terre Haute Nationals" but look forward to a continued relationship with the Terre Haute Action Track, its tradition and its new operator in 1999," said USAC President Johnny Capels.

The Stoops Freightliner Sprint Cars and National Midgets appear together September 19 at Indianapolis Raceway Park, September 25-26 at Rossburg, Ohio and October 25 at Winchester, Ind. The National Midgets then conclude their 1998 series with three events in California in November.
