BARBERDODGE: Homestead Date Change

LAKEVILLE, Conn. _ The announced today that the date of the race scheduled for the Miami-Dade Homestead Motorsports Complex in Homestead, Florida has been moved from Saturday, November 14 to Saturday, October 17, 1998.

The schedule revision will allow the Barber Dodge Pro Series to become a part of the FIA GT weekend package slated to challenge Homestead's 2.21 mile road course. Television scheduling information for the race will be announced shortly.

The Barber Dodge season will now conclude in Monterey, California at the series' second visit of the year to Laguna Seca Raceway on Sunday, October 25. The Barber Dodge Pro Series 1998 Awards Banquet will now held Sunday, October 25 in the Monterey, California area at a location to be determined.

The revised four-event balance of the 12-race Barber Dodge Pro Series schedule will run in the following order:

September 12 _ Laguna Seca, Cal. with CART FedEx series.

October 10 _ Road Atlanta, Georgia with Petit LeMans GT race.

October 17 _ Homestead, Fla. with FIA GT race.

October 25 _ Laguna Seca, Cal. with FIA GT race.

The Barber Dodge Pro Series is a 12-race series which awards over $1.1 million in prize money utilizing state-of-the-art carbon composite Reynard Dodge open-wheeled race cars. Barber Dodge is sanctioned by Professional Sports Car Racing and is considered one of the primary stepping stones to the CART FedEx Championship.
