NASCAR-CTS: Butch Miller and Dana Dodge Team like new tracks

MADISON, ILL -Visiting the new tracks on the 1998 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule has proven to be a good thing for Butch Miller and the Dana Dodge Team. They have notched top-fifteen finishes at both Pikes Peak International Raceway and Memphis Motorsports Park. Now they head for the inaugural NCTS event at Gateway International Raceway just outside St. Louis and feel like the can improve their performance in the Ram Tough 200 on September 19.
What can I say, said Miller. This DANA Dodge team is awesome on new tracks. We qualified well last week at Memphis and had a strong race without having been there before. We tested at Gateway and really liked how the truck handled. With the race being this late in the season, hopefully the heat wont be as much of an issue as it was during the test. We just need to keep doing what we have been doing, qualifying well and racing strong. We are going to get this DANA Dodge to victory lane before the year is over, Miller continued. This would certainly be the place for us to capture our first win. At a new, beautiful race track with Dodge as the race sponsor. That would be a great achievement for this team. We have worked hard all season and keep improving with every race. I am ready and I know my team is ready.
The 46 year-old Miller is in his fourth season of competition in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He has finished in the top-ten in season-ending point standings two of the three previous seasons, his best being fourth in 1995.
The DANA Dodge team is one of two NASCAR Craftsman Truck teams owned by L & R Motorsports, Lance and Ron Norick. Lance drives the NHL Dodge. The team is based in Concord, North Carolina.
Bud Pole Qualifying for the Ram Tough 200 is slated from Friday, September 18 at 3:00 for positions one through 20. Second round qualifying will be Saturday morning with the race set to start a 3:30 p.m. CDT. TNN will provide live television coverage of the race. The NASCAR Truck Network will broadcast the race to over 400 radio station affiliates nationwide.
