Drag Bikes: Fred Collis to Ride for Star Racing

24 October 1998

AMERICUS, Georgia - Star Racing announced today their formation of a new race team which will campaign in the mountain motor Pro Stock Bike category in the 1999 AMA/Prostar series.

Fred Collis, formally an employee of M.R.E., has relocated from Clearwater, Florida, to Americus, Georgia, the location of Star Racing's headquarters, and will ride the companies second bike.

A graduate of the Frank Hawley Drag Racing School, of which Star's founder, George Bryce offers Pro Stock Bike classes, Fred's riding ability became apparent to Bryce and the two have been in conversation for several months about the possibilities.

Fred will be riding the traditional red and yellow Star Performance Parts Suzuki, similar to the bikes which Angelle Seeling and John Myers rode previously, at all of the Prostar National Events. The bike will also be contested at various other non-conflicting events.

In addition to racing, Fred will assist with the expansion of the Star Performance Parts mail order business.

Star racing is anticpating a successful season with Fred and is refocusing on the Prostar series in an effort to show their never-ending support of motorcycle drag racing.

"This is a great partnership with Fred and we are excited to have this opportunity to have a presence at Prostar events once again, and get to work face to face with our friends and customers" said George and Jackie Bryce.

Star Racing will once again continue their quest for the 1999 NHRA Winston Championship with Angelle Seeling riding the Team Winston Suzuki.
