USAC Western States: Gardner & Faccinto in 'Hot Seats' Saturday at Kings Speedway

Jeff Gardner of Frenso, Calif. and Monte Faccinto of Hanford, Calif. will occupy "hot seats" for this Saturday night's USAC "Western States"/Regional Rebel Sprint Car race at Kings Speedway in Hanford.

Gardner currently leads the "Western States" standings by a slim 26 points over Rick Williams of San Leandro, Calif., while Faccinto's "Regional Rebel" point lead over Davey Pombo of Kerman, Calif. stands at only 24 points going into the events at the 1/3-mile dirt oval which will conclude with a 30-lap feature.

Gardner's three 1998 "Westen States" wins have come on paved ovals, while Faccinto has won five times at Hanford in addition to two other victories in "Rebel" competition.

A total of 72 "Western States" points are up for grabs at Hanford, while 60 "rebel points are available.

Saturday's Hanford race will witness the crowning of the "Regional Rebel" champion, while the "Western States" Series concludes November 28 at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway.
