What: The Pennzoil 50 is race No. 20 in the Goody's Dash Series 1998 Schedule and the final race of the season.

Where: The Miami-Dade Homestead Motorsports Complex in Homestead, Fla. is a 1.5 mile slightly-banked asphalt oval. The Speedway is located off the Florida Turnpike at the Campbell Drive exit.

When: Sunday, November 15, 1998 - Immediately following the Jiffy Lube Miami 300 NASCAR Bush Grand National Division Championship event. Distance: 50 Laps ( 75 Miles )

Friday November 13: Registration 10:00 a.m. Haulers Enter 12:00 p.m. Inspection 1:00 p.m. No practice.
Saturday November 14: Registration and Inspection 7:00 a.m. Mandatory Rookie Drivers Meeting 8:00 a.m. (Located at the Dash Trailer) Draw for Qualifying 8:00 a.m. Practice 9:00 to 9:55 a.m. and 11:00 to 11:55 a.m. Time Trials (2 Laps) all positions 3:15 p.m.
Sunday November 15: Registration and Inspection 8:00 a.m. Mandatory Driver and Crew Chief Meeting 12:00 noon.

The Goody's Dash Series was honored as being the first NASCAR sanctioned event ever held at the Homestead Motorsports Complex in 1995. This event marks the fifth appearance ever for the Goody's Dash Series since the Speedway opened on Nov. 4, 1995. Winston Racing Series veteran, Dexter Canipe won that inaugural event in a Ford Probe prepared by the late Ellis Ragan. Danny Bagwell also drove a Ford to the first Bud Pole Award at the Speedway in that same event.

In subsequent Goody's Dash Series events at Homestead, David Hutto (Spring '96), Robert Huffman ( Spring '97) and Danny Bagwell (Fall '97) have all been honored as race winners.

The official crowning of this year's Champion, Robert Huffman and Rookie of the Year, Donnie Apple will be part of the post-race ceremonies for this, the final Goody's Dash Series race of the 1998 season.

On Thursday, Nov. 12, at 6:00 p.m., Goody's Dash Series team owners, drivers and crews, will be joined by local dignitaries at the Harris Field Barn Pavilion located at Campbell Dr. and U.S. 1 in Homestead for the 4th Annual South Florida Motorsports Host Committee Welcome Reception.

Rules Specific To This Track:

Field-32 fastest qualifiers plus 4 provisionals.

Tires-Goodyear 2372 (left side) and 2382 (right side) Right side must have inner shields.

Door Windows--Right side door windows not permitted.

Roof Flaps-Roof panel air deflectors are optional for this event.

Spoiler-Minimum spoiler angle is 45 degrees during practice, qualifying and race.

Fuel Cell-If your fuel cell has not been inspected by a NASCAR official in 1998 and is not sealed, have the fuel cell out of the car with the end off ready for inspection.

Magnafluxing-Car Owners and/or Crew Chiefs competing at Miami-Dade Homestead Motorsports Complex in 1998 must confirm in writing that all suspension parts have passed magnaflux testing.
