LAS VEGAS, NV -- The Derek Daly Performance Driving Academy recently hosted major motion picture star Sylvester Stallone as he began his research and preparation for his upcoming movie centered around Formula One. Driving the Academy's custom built Nemesis Formula SC99 Race Cars, the star of such movies as the Rocky series, First Blood and Copland participated in a Two Day Racing School in September and a Two Day Advanced Session in October. Stallone completed over 200 Laps on both Las Vegas Motor Speedway road courses.

"It is by far one of the most, if not the most, exhilarating experiences of my life," said Stallone, who won an Oscar for his Rocky script.

"His commitment to understanding the sport both surprised and pleased me," commented Academy owner Daly, a former Formula One driver. "He was very focused and developed very quickly." The Derek Daly Academy opened in November 1996 and has quickly become an industry leader as the only school with state-of-the-art race cars, data acquisition systems and one-on-one instruction. It features programs using both Formula Cars and BMW Z3 Roadsters.
