NASCAR WCUP: Daytona Offers Limited Earnhardt Collectible Ticket

The World Center of Racing' is offering a special collectible ticket for the entire first weekend of the NASCAR Winston Cup season, where speeds will be in excess of 190 mph. The weekend ticket includes admission to Bud Pole Day qualifying for the Daytona 500 on Saturday, Feb. 6; and also the Bud Shootout At Daytona and the FirstPlus Financial 200 ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series race on Sunday, Feb. 7.
The collectible ticket features seven-time NASCAR Winston Cup champion Dale Earnhardt. Earnhardt won the Daytona 500 last season for the first time in his 20th attempt.
The weekend ticket is currently on sale at the Speedway ticket office for $55.
"The Bud Shootout At Daytona is the first race of the season featuring the NASCAR Winston Cup teams," said Daytona International Speedway president John Graham. "Bud Pole Qualifying on Saturday, plus the Bud Shootout and the FirstPlus Financial 200 on Sunday, make this one of the greatest value weekends for race fans.
"That value is further enhanced by the Dale Earnhardt collectible ticket."
Bud Pole Day likely will feature more than 60 Winston Cup drivers racing against the clock, gunning for one of the two front row spots available for the Daytona 500. Last season, the Labonte brothers swept the front row on Bud Pole Day, with Bobby edging older brother Terry for the No.1 starting position.
"When qualifying day at Daytona finally gets here, it's both stressful and a relief," the younger Labonte said. "It's stressful because you know you've tested hard all winter for two of the most important laps of your career, and it's a relief because you know the season is finally here."
The weekend concludes Sunday, Feb. 7 with the Bud Shootout At Daytona and the FirstPlus Financial 200.
The Bud Shootout At Daytona will again feature two 25-lap races with the field for the first race made up of 1998 Bud Second-Round fastest qualifiers. The winner of the first race advances to the Bud Shootout At Daytona, joining the 1998 Bud Pole Award winners.
Those qualifying for the first race are Jeff Green, Dave Marcis, Jerry Nadeau, Joe Nemechek, Dan Pardus, Steve Park, Robert Pressley, Dennis Setzer, Morgan Shepherd, Mike Skinner, Jimmy Spencer, Dick Trickle, Gary Bradberry and Kenny Wallace.
The winner of the first race then advances to face 1998 Bud Pole winners Todd Bodine, Derrike Cope, Ricky Craven, Jeff Gordon, Bobby Hamilton, Ernie Irvan, Kenny Irwin, Dale Jarrett, Bobby Labonte, Mark Martin, Rick Mast, Jeremy Mayfield, Ken Schrader and Rusty Wallace in the Bud Shootout.
Last season Rusty Wallace got drafting help from his younger brother, Kenny, to win the 62-mile sprint.
The FirstPlus Financial 200 will follow the Bud Shootout At Daytona and will be ARCA Series champion Frank Kimmel's first opportunity to mount an effort for consecutive championships.
