NASCAR WCUP: North East Racing News to Sponsor Ricky Craven Charity Snowmobile Ride

4 December 1998

Ricky Craven
Turner, ME - The second annual Ricky Craven Snowmobile ride for charity will be held on January 30th in Greenville, Maine. The ride will circle around Moosehead Lake, which is about a 75-mile ride. To participate in the Ride, the cost is $125 per person and includes breakfast, lunch, autographs, special giveaways, an event sweatshirt and program and a great day of fun with Ricky and other celebrities.

The minimum donation of $125 per rider will benefit three of Craven's favorite charities; the Marrow Foundation, Ricky Craven the Children's Miracle Network of Maine and the Make-A-Wish Foundations of Maine and New Hampshire. The same three charities benefited from the ride in 1997.

North East Racing News will be covering the event with news and stories leading up to the event as well as the entire days activities. The coverage will be featured in publications including Area Auto Racing News and online at the North East Racing News web site at www.neracing.com.

On December 1, North East Racing News announced they will not only cover the event but will be a Silver Level Corporate Sponsor for the event.

"We're very excited to be participating in this years snowmobile ride with Ricky," said North East Racing News editor George Campbell. "The charity's involved are all great charities. I have friends that have been involved with both the Children's Miracle Network and the Make-A-Wish Foundations. I have had the opportunity to see some of the results of these great organizations first hand, and I'm very happy we were able to do a little something to help Ricky raise some money for them."

North East Racing News through their web site www.neracing.com is also hoping to raise some extra money for the Charity Ride.

"We are making a donation as a sponsor, but we would like to increase our donation with the help of our readers," said Campbell. "We are setting a modest goal of an additional $500 we would like to raise. To help raise the additional $500, we are going to offer any business or web site that makes a $25 donation here, to the charity ride, a free one month ad linking back to their web site. Any company that would like to donate $50 or more to the ride, through us, will receive a free months page sponsorship on our web site. We are also hoping to get an online auction put together in the next week or so, with the proceeds from the sales going to the charity ride."
