NASCAR BGN: Frontline Motorsports-South Joins Forces with Barry Owens Racing

Linwood, N.C. - Frank Tiscareno, President of Frontline Motorsports-South announced today that the #97 Chevrolet NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team driven by Tim Bolton, has joined forces with Owens Racing Inc. and Frontline Motorsports-South, for the 1999 Season.Owens Racing Inc. will oversee the racing operations, truck maintenance, and implement race day strategies from their newly completed 13,000 square foot building, which is an addition to their existing operation which currently houses the #50 Busch Grand National Dr. Pepper team owned by Julius Irving and Joe Washington.

"Frank Tiscareno & Frontline Mortorsports -South's, marketing and advertising expertise, along with the talents of Tim Bolton behind the wheel are going to attract the attention of a variety of major companies that will want to become involved in NASCAR sponsorship, we are excited to be part of the team."
Owens specialty over the years has been his ability to work in the development of young drivers and mold them into champions. "I believe Tim Bolton has what it takes to be a champion in this sport", Owens stated.
Owens' rich history, which includes working with Busch Grand National and Winston Cup stars such as, Terry Labonte, Geoff Bodine, Rusty Wallace, Mike Wallace and Clifford Allison. Barry Owens has fielded cars with rookie driver Steve Grissom, Ward Burton and Morgan Shepherd. Bolton and Frontline Motorsports-South are about to be propelled into a strong 1999 season.
Two of Owens most historic moments in racing history are when four time Indianapolis 500 champion, A.J. Foyt decided to interrupt his retirement to drive the Inaugural Brickyard 400 with Barry Owens as crew chief. But clearly the crowning jewel of Barry Owens' career was when he was with Richard Petty during his 199th victory and the historic 200th victory, when Richard Petty won the Pepsi Firecracker 400 at Daytona International Speedway with President Ronald Reagan watching from the luxury suites.
