NASCAR: Jeff Gordon's Official Website Reaches 100,000,000 Hits

26 December 1998

Atlanta, Georgia-- A third Winston Cup Championship was not the only thing that November had in store for Jeff Gordon. There was still yet another dab of polish to be added to his lustrous career, and that polish was applied to an area that most past champions never even had the chance to shine during their time on the track.

The passing of November marks the 100,000,000th hit achieved by www.jeffgordon.com since its public debut on July 20, 1996. With the Internet's surge in popularity during the mid 90's, Jeff was again leading the pack. Gordon launched his site under the development and direction of Cybertrack, a growing racing based design and marketing company, located in Atlanta, who currently manages a number of race- related sites.

Not only was Jeff among the first drivers to have an official site on the web, but he was also the very first driver to proudly display his URL on the back of his uniform. "Putting my URL on the back of our uniforms was really an easy choice for me, Gordon says. "I love computers and understand the value in having my own site." Jeff really likes the fact that he can "give something back" to the fans through www.jeffgordon.com.

Jeff's website records over 150,000 visitors per month and continues to grow. Ironically, his winning #24 appeared in the day's total when the site crossed the 100,000,000-mark finish line on the 18th ending the day with exactly 100,124,923 hits. Also, race fans are invited to Action Interactive's Grand Opening of SpeedMall (www.speedmall.com) on February 1, 1999, noon, EST. The site will be motorsports most unique online shopping and entertainment experience featuring many of the officially licensed Jeff Gordon products. Cybertrack also manages sites for Steve Park (www.steve-park.com) Darrell Waltrip (www.dw17.com), Adam Petty (www.adampetty.com), The International Race of Champions (www.irocracing.com) and CART driver Christian Fittipaldi (www.christianfittipaldi.net) to name a few.
