NASCAR Busch Series Notes

On Indianapolis: The Phillips 66 team travels to Indianapolis Raceway Park for the first and only time in 1999 for the running of the Kroger 200 this weekend. Todd Bodine, who finished 15th at the .686-mile oval last year, was one of only 17 drivers that finished on the lead lap. In his six starts at Indianapolis, Bodine has produced one top-10 finish, finishing eighth in 1992. Bodine hopes to turn his luck around at Indianapolis with a win this weekend.

Weve never had real good luck at Indianapolis, Bodine said. We have never been able to hit on the right set up for that race. I love short track racing and weve been pretty good on the short tracks this year. Hopefully, with the right combination of a good car set-up and a little racing luck, we ll be able to get a good finish there this year and keep up the roll of top-10 finishes weve had.

Last Weekend in St. Louis: Bodine started 24th in St. Louis before finishing 10th. The Phillips 66 Chevrolet was handling too tight throughout the majority of the event. After the last pit stop, the ill-handling car improved and Bodine scored his fifth straight top-10 finish.

Equipment: Twister is the car Bodine will compete with in Indianapolis this weekend. Twister has proven to be a successful car for Bodine in 1999 as it has not finished outside the top 10. Twisters credentials include a fifth-place finish at Nashville, sixth at Myrtle Beach, eighth at Milwaukee and ninth at New Hampshire.

Bodine Favorite: Bodines favorite type of food is Mexican.
