DE FERRAN COPS INDY CAR POLE IN PENNZOIL REYNARD
Picking up where he left off yesterday in provisional
qualifying for the Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix Gil de
Ferran, Pennzoil Reynard/Honda, set a new track record, took the pole
position and a 10,000 Marlboro pole award bonus and will obviously
be the odds on favorite for Sundays Grand Prix on the tricky 1.6
mile Long Beach street circuit.
De Ferran commented,"The track was
faster than it was yesterday and my car was dead on as for the set
up."
