Hayes teams with Bud Moore for Daytona

SportsPLUS International, LLC announced Wednesday that Hayes Microcomputer Products has teamed with Bud Moore to sponsor the #15 Winston Cup car to be driven by Wally Dallenbach Jr. Atlanta based Hayes is best know as the inventor and manufacturer of the world's fastest computer modem and is regularly ranked as the top modem brand in the world.

Dennis C. Hayes, Chairman and CEO of hayes, has been a friend of the Bud Moore family and fan of racing team since he was a boy growing up in Spartanburg, SC. Dennis Hayes and Bud Moore's son, Brent, once competed against each other in high school science fair. Both engineers by training, Hayes and Moore share a mutual respect for advanced technology, NASCAR racing and speed.

Dennis Hayes said, "Hayes is proud to sponsor the Bud Moore Engineering Winston Cup team, a legend on the NASCAR circuit. Together we share a passion for speed and technological excellance and superiority.

Wally Dallenbach said, "The #15 Hayes Modem Ford is fast and has the engineering to win. It's a great opportunity for me to show what I can do with a top car and an experienced team to back me up."

Bud Moore Engineering has fielded cars since 1961 and is one of only two original NASCAR team that is still active in Winston Cup racing. Owned by decorated World War II veteran Bud Moore, the team has included some of stock car racing's greatest drivers, including Joe Weatherly, Curtis Turner, Bobby Allison, David Pearson and Dale Earnhardt.

The sponsorship is set for Daytona. Hayes officials indicated that they will be be exploring opportunities during the weekend and they will try and determine if the sponsorship will continue during other Winston Cup events.
