Infiniti Announces 1998 I30 Starting At $28,900 - Best In-Class Luxury Adds More Refinements And Value -CARSON, Calif., July 14 -- Infiniti, the luxury division of Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A., announced pricing for its 1998 I30 luxury sedan today, starting at a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $28,900. For 1998, there are two distinct I30 models in addition to a new leather and convenience package option. The Standard I30, with a base MSRP of $28,900, represents only a $100 increase over the 1997 model with significant product enhancements, including: Front-seat side airbags (a rarity in this class), all-new jewel-like headlights, taillights similar to the flagship Q45, a new rear finisher, new center console with new cup holders, and a new beige cloth interior. The volume leading model, formerly known as the Leather-Appointed Model, becomes the Leather and Convenience Package option for 1998. In addition to the increased content noted on the 1998 Standard I30, this package also includes a leather-appointed interior, all-new leather seats with perforated seating surfaces and embossed Infiniti name and logo, power sunroof, anti- glare rearview mirror and an Integrated HomeLink(TM) Transmitter. Reflecting a strong customer value, the MSRP of an I30 equipped with this package is $30,200, only $1,300 more than the 1998 Standard I30. In comparison to the 1997 Leather-Appointed Model, the price increase of only $300 offers outstanding value with the added content and updates of the 1998 Leather and Convenience Package option. The MSRP for the performance-oriented Touring Model (I30t) remains unchanged for the 1998 model year at $31,500. Touring models for 1998 receive all-new 16" alloy wheels styled like the Q45 Touring wheel. In addition to the overall improvements on the I30 line-up, the 55 series lower profile tire provides the 1998 I30t with "an attitude" with a bit more verve. Since its introduction in May 1995, the strength of the I30 has been its appeal as a true luxury sedan. "The 1998 I30 strengthens this appeal even further and continues to offer the luxury, performance and advanced engineering of Infiniti's flagship Q45 -- in a mid-luxury sedan," said Tom Eastwood, vice president, Infiniti Division. The 1998 I30 goes on sale July 15, with nation-wide availability by late- August.
