Land Rover Reports October SalesLANHAM, Md., Nov. 3 -- Land Rover North America, Inc. today reported October retail sales of 1,415 units. This compares to the 1,877 units sold in: October 1996. Charles R. Hughes, president, LRNA, said, "1997 has been a good year for us. October sales figures reflect a situation where product was in short supply. We are all looking forward to a strong flow of 1998 vehicles." The first issue features such diverse subjects as elephants, fly-fishing in Patagonia and the Land Rover Driving School at the Equinox resort in Vermont. The Journal will be published twice a year and available through LRNA's 110 retail sales outlets, including the 56 Land Rover Centres. It will also be delivered to all current Land Rover owners. An updated, 1998 model year edition of LRNA's widely praised 132-page "Authoritative Guide to Compact Sport-Utility Vehicles" will soon be available through the company's web site at http://www.LandRover.com. or by calling 1-800 FINE 4WD. In addition, the impartial reference booklet will be available through Land Rover retailers, and excerpts from the Guide are posted at the web site.
