Audi Debuts A6 in Miami at the South Florida International Auto ShowMIAMI, Nov. 7 -- Audi of America, Inc. today debuted the new Audi A6 to North America at the South Florida International Auto Show in Miami. This debut coincides with the car's appearance in dealer showrooms this week throughout the United States and Canada. This debut marks the first time Audi has introduced a model at the Miami-based show and the first general appearance of the car before the public. Audi's new A6 is a luxury touring sedan that asks, and answers, the question: Can one car change the way you look at all cars? With its striking, new interior and exterior design, class leading dimensions and features, and a base MSRP of $33,750, the A6 is ready to return to its place as the center of Audi's North American product offering. "We are introducing the car in Miami because the Sunbelt states are a key growth market for us," said Gerd Klauss, Vice President in charge of Audi of America. "Sales in these states through September are up 43 percent from last year and the A6 is ideally suited to maintain and increase the momentum in this region and across the country." On the Audi exhibit, along with the new A6, is Audi's all-new A4 Avant. The A4 Avant, in U.S. showrooms now, is a true German sport wagon built on the successful A4 platform. It offers buyers all the amenities that they have come to expect from the A4 2.8 luxury sport sedan with the added versatility of a wagon. Audi continues to enjoy sales increases on this side of the Atlantic. Last year, U.S. sales were up 51.1 percent over the previous year. This year through October, sales are up 22.7 percent in the U.S. and 45.6 percent in Canada over 1996. SOURCE Audi of America, Inc.
