BMW Unveils New Lifestyle Merchandise Available at Retailers; on Internet

    WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Nov. 17 -- BMW of North America, Inc.
has introduced an all-new line of lifestyle accessories and gift articles,
available at BMW retailers and on the Internet at http://www.bmwusa.com .
    BMW's 1998 collection features about 200 items, most of it new
merchandise.  In addition, the company also offers BMW PerformanceWear, a
sportswear line for adults and toddlers that's updated seasonally.
    The new BMW collection features items such as:
    -- Outerwear including fleece pullovers, sweaters, chambray and denim
       shirts and jackets
    -- A lightweight 10-piece luggage collection made of microfiber and
       leather
    -- Business accessories such as a leather attache case, briefcases for men
       and women, a desk ensemble and brushed chrome picture frames
    -- A 21-speed folding mountain bike
    -- The ultimate tricycle and clothing for toddlers
    -- Rosenthal china mugs; watches and other accessories

    "Our lifestyle merchandise is an extension of the BMW brand.  Many of our
customers identify with the BMW product and have asked for merchandise that
supports their lifestyle," explained Hans Duenzl, Vice President of Aftersales
and Engineering, BMW of North America, Inc., the company's U.S. sales and
marketing arm.  "In fact, sales of this merchandise have nearly doubled in the
two years since BMW repositioned its collection with items created for the BMW
customer."
