Announces Successful Completion of Consent SolicitationCOLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 15 -- Safelite Glass Corp., a leading installer, distributor, and manufacturer of automotive replacement glass, announced today that it has successfully completed its solicitation of consents from the holders of its 9 7/8% Senior Subordinated Notes due 2006 to proposed amendments of the Indenture under which the Notes were issued. The Current Solicitation expired at 5:00 p.m. New York City time, on December 12, 1997. Chase Securities Inc. acted as the Solicitation Agent for the Consent Solicitation. Georgeson & Company acted as Information Agent and State Street Bank and Trust acted as Consent Agent. The Consent Solicitation was undertaken in connection with the previously-announced merger of Vistar, Inc., an Illinois corporation, into the Company. The Company expects the merger with Vistar to be consummated prior to December 31, 1997.
