Audi Achieves Best February Sales and Best Year-to-Date Start Since 1986

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 3 -- Audi of America, Inc.
reported U.S. sales of 2,794 for the month of February, representing a 14.1
percent increase over the same month last year when sales were 2,448.
    It was Audi's best February since 1986.  The primary drivers of this
success remain Audi's exciting A4 and new A6 models.  Audi has demonstrated
this kind of year-over-previous-year sales increase for 37 of the last 39
months.
    So far in 1998, Audi has sold 5,490 automobiles representing a 13.1
percent increase over the same period last year when the total was 4,852.
This month's sales results mark Audi's best start of the year since 1986.
