Best-Ever February Sales Reported By Toyota's Chicago RegionCHICAGO, March 5 -- Toyota's Chicago Region posted record car and truck sales in February of 4,850 vehicles, a 19 percent increase over 1997. New car sales at 114 Toyota dealers in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan totaled 4,524, a 23 percent increase over last year's 3,688 sales. "Strong performance by our North-American built Camrys and Avalons, as well as the Toyota RAV4 and 4Runner sports utility vehicles, all contributed to a record setting sales month," said Dave Camden, general manager of the Chicago Region. "The full-size Avalon recorded a best-ever February, with sales up 59 percent from last year," Camden said. "Toyota 4Runner and RAV4 had sales gains of 69 percent and 55 percent, respectively."
