Infiniti Reports March Sales; QX4 Posts 11.9 Percent Increase

CARSON, Calif., April 1 -- Infiniti, the luxury division of
Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A. (NMC), reported total March sales of 5,552
units versus 7,261 units last year. March sales brought Infiniti's fiscal
year to a close with 62,611 units versus 58,567 for the prior year.
"March marks the close of our best fiscal year ever, up 7.3 percent,
following our best calendar year ever," said Tom Orbe, vice president and
general manager, Infiniti Division of NMC.
"We're moving in the right direction, and we've got a plan in place to
keep the momentum going," Orbe said. "Next week, for example, we'll preview
the new Infiniti G20 in New York, which is in a segment expected to grow 22
percent from calendar year 1998 to 1999. Our QX4 is doing very well in the
fastest growing luxury segment. Also, you'll begin to see diversification in
our product lineup."

and 21.5 percent versus last month. With sales of 3,321 units, up 45.4
