Chrysler Corporation Announces Pricing on 1999 Chrysler LHS and Chrysler 300M

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 15 -- Chrysler Corporation
has announced pricing for the all-new 1999 Chrysler LHS and Chrysler
300M.
The suggested retail price for a 1999 Chrysler LHS including destination
is $28,995, or $1,855 less than the previous model. The all-new 1999 Chrysler
300M sport sedan is priced at $28,895, including destination. The destination
charge for both cars is $595.
"Both cars deliver a full range of standard premium features, leading edge
designs and great driving experiences at prices that are thousands of dollars
less than other vehicles in the segment," said Martin R. Levine, General
Manager, Chrysler/Plymouth/Jeep(R) Division. "While the Chrysler LHS and
Chrysler 300M are priced on par with each other, they each possess unique
characteristics to attract buyers who are attitudinally different from one
another."
Redesigned for the first time in almost five years, the 1999 Chrysler LHS
is the most luxurious Chrysler sedan. It delivers the look of a
sophisticated, "handcrafted" exterior and interior, a high level of standard
equipment and excellent ride and handling attributes.
New to the sport sedan segment is the Chrysler 300M, a continuation of
Chrysler's famed 300 "letter series" performance cars sold between 1955 and
1965. The 1999 300M is a modern interpretation of the original, offering a
balance of responsive performance, outstanding fuel efficiency, crisp handling
and distinctive design.
In keeping with customer's desires in the premium segment, the Chrysler
LHS and 300M each have a long list of standard features including heated,
leather-trimmed, eight-way power front seats and a personalized memory system
with two presets for the radio settings, the driver's seat and the exterior
heated mirrors. Also standard is an Infinity I(R) 240-watt cassette/compact
disc sound system, air conditioning with automatic temperature control, power
door locks, four-way head restraints and a driver's manual lumbar support.
Both cars are powered by an all-new, all-aluminum 3.5-liter high output
V-6 engine rated at 253 horsepower. In terms of total horsepower and torque,
this new high output engine is the best performing naturally-aspirated V-6 on
the market today.
The 1999 Chrysler LHS and 1999 Chrysler 300M are manufactured at
Chrysler's Bramalea Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada. They will go on
sale in the second quarter of 1998.
