TIER ONE Opens Detroit-Area Office

                 Roger Meiners Appointed Local Representative
             Of California Auto Electronics Market Research Firm

    MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 22 -- TIER ONE LC announced that
it opened a Detroit-area office in Milford, Michigan, and named Roger S.
Meiners Vice President and Director of Business Development to manage the
office. Meiners is responsible for North American sales, with emphasis on auto
OEMs and their electronics suppliers.
    "Opening this office signals TIER ONE's strong commitment to the Detroit
automotive market," says Company founder, Morris Kindig.  "Our goal is to give
our customers the best service possible, so we have to be here.  We will be
increasing our presence as necessary, by adding professionals in the community
who can enhance our expertise," added Kindig.
    Meiners is a veteran in the OEM auto electronics market.  He served in
sales, marketing, and program management posts at Motorola and McLaren
Engines.  He most recently worked in the electric vehicle industry as Director
of Product Planning for Livonia-based Trans2 Corporation.
    TIER ONE specializes in automotive electronics market research and
consulting.  "We keep track of both technology and market trends," says
Kindig.  "Our people are electrical engineers, marketers, and other
professionals with years of experience in the OEM electronics industry.  We

    Kindig was Director of Automotive Electronics at Dataquest, the
