DENSO Participates in Rouge Rescue

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., June 5 -- Eighteen employees of DENSO
International America of Southfield, Mich., will lend their strong backs and
adventuresome spirits to help restore a section of the Rouge River on June 6.
    They will be participating in the annual Rouge Rescue, sponsored by
Friends of the Rouge, a non-profit agency.

    Participants include:
    -- Trip Bonds of Canton;
    -- Kathy Deibler of Southfield;
    -- Laura Douglas of Wixom;
    -- Morris Hammer and Nick Sugawara of Farmington Hills;
    -- Michael Jerris of Royal Oak;
    -- Ike Kawamoto of West Bloomfield;
    -- Karen Lu of Dearborn Heights;
    -- Andy Ly and Kevin McCurry of Troy;
    -- Ty Nguyen of Livonia;
    -- Tom Slaga of Highland;
    -- Tony Takeuchi of Bloomfield Hills;
    -- Robert Townsend of Northville;
    -- Glen Valentine of Brighton;
    -- John Voorhorst of Ann Arbor;
    -- Barbara Wertheimer of Bingham Farms, and
    -- Neil Zemmol of Huntington Woods.

    "Worldwide, DENSO has long been involved in environmental protection.  In
fact, one of DENSO's key management principles is, 'Environmental preservation
and harmony with society.'
    "This project is a very good match for us.  Also, we have a personal
interest in that our buildings are near the river in Southfield," said Tony
Takeuchi, president and CEO of DENSO International America, North American
headquarters for DENSO.
    Voorhorst, director of External Affairs, coordinated DENSO's participation
in the event.  Kawamoto and Sugawara are executive vice presidents.
